Peninsular Malaysia is situated between, roughly 1.5 & 6.5 degrees N. The climate is tropical with high temperatures and high humidity and very small seasonal variations. The rainforest flora contains about 800 species of orchid ranging from minute species of Bulbophyllum to the gigantic Grammatophyllum speciosum, the largest of all orchids.
