"Orchidaceous", as it was originally known, was launched on 8th September 1988 by Grant Smith of Alstonville, New South Wales at the Orchid Expo '88 held in the Cultural Centre at Caloundra, Queensland.
"Orchidaceous Books", was sold to Grahame and Margaret Muller of Tinana, Queensland, on 30th November 1999 and the web site was officially launched on 26th January 2002.
