This first volume of a series contains an introduction to Borneo and its orchid flora, chapters on the life history and structure of orchids, as well as a discussion of orchid classification. Keys to the orchid genera of Borneo are provided. A selection of a hundred species of wild orchid, chiefly of the horticulturally important genera (including Arachnis, Dimorphorchis, Paphiopedilum, Paraphalaenopsis, Phalaenopsis, and Vanda) is included, accompanied by descriptions, notes on habitat, ecology and distribution.
