This work is the result of 18 years of research of the forest from 1000 to 1800 metres above sea level. 230 orchid species from 56 genera - all described in detail and in their natural habitat, complete with line drawings of their lips. Contains 192 colour photographs of the more representative species. As a Field and Hobbyists' Guide containing a mass of hitherto unavailable information concerning the cool growing orchids from the High Mountain Atlantic Rain Forest, it is to be recommended to professional botanists, amateur enthusiasts and especially growers.
