Mt Kinabalu is situated in Sabah, Malayasia. At 4095m in height it is the highest peak between Myanmar and Papua. The Kinabalu massif is only about 1250km2, yet an astonishing number of orchids can be found there. Some 866 species in 134 genera have been recorded from this small area, and of these 38% are only from one locality and 16% have only been collected once. The author has chosen 100 species to highlight and these are presented to show the wide diversity af orchid forms found in this incredible location.
